Lang Son is located far north at the 0km landmark of National Highway 1A, more specifically at Huu Nghi Quan (Friendship Gate). This is an important transportation link between Vietnam and China. Transport: Lang Son is 20km from Dong Dang, 154km from Hanoi. Getting to and from Dong Dang from Lang Son, is possible by hired car or motorbike. Huu Nghi Border Gate crossing is 3km. Motorbike taxis (Xe om) can be found almost anywhere (around the post office and the market).
Train: There are two trains offering daily connections with Hanoi and Dong Dang, stopping in Lang Son.
